Since the mid-1980s I have concentrated solely on creating large charcoal drawings and conceptual art projects. I’ve worked for artists’ rights and artist housing issues and was a founding member of the Waltham Mills Artists Association and the Newton Artists Housing Partnership in Massachuestts. The latter purchased the Claflin School from the City of Newton and developed it into permanent live/work space for visual artists. I’ve served on the Newton Arts Center Board of Directors and was appointed visual arts representative to the City of Newton Cultural Council, which I chaired from 2002-2004. I have an extensive record of solo and group exhibitions and have participated in over eighty-five invitational and/or juried exhibitions. My drawings and paintings are included in numerous private collections across the United States. I received three fellowships from the the Massachusetts Council for the Arts and was nominated for the prestigious national Awards in the Visual Arts Program. I share my studio with a calico cat named “The Studio Cat”
